Pitkin County Open Space and Trails (OST) employs an Agricultural Lease Bid Process to lease county-owned agricultural properties. As OST-managed properties with an agricultural component become available for lease, the bid process is used to find the best lessee for the property. The process, as adopted by the Open Space and Trails Board, is available for download below.
Coke Ovens Open Space
OST is now accepting proposals for an agricultural lease at the Coke Ovens Open Space (pictured above), located behind the Coke Ovens at Redstone. The property has fenced areas and corrals ideal for an equestrian or cattle operation. Public access will be incorporated into the property. The lease will be renewable annually until a management plan is developed for the open space.
